Coaching By The Quadrant

Our clients explore their challenges with coaches who apply the expert attention needed to cultivate wisdom, ideas and growth. This enables powerful solutions to emerge, greater impact to be achieved and clients to feel more energized and fulfilled by the actions they take.”

Why The “Areas Of Life” Approach?

How does the quadrants approach work?

Life doesn't exist in only one area; we created the quadrants approach to make it easier for clients to deal with what isn't working in a specific area of life.

The quadrants overlap each other and cover all of life, working in this way prevents clients from getting stuck in something ambiguous or even absurd, like “work - life balance.”

The greatest benefit of our quadrants approach is that it makes it easier to see life laid out.

This makes it easy for us to diagnose imbalances and even anticipate breakdowns and breakthroughs in specific areas. That way we can plan for them with specific coaches, coaching and strategies.

I Need Coaching has been a godsend of authentic communication & collaboration. Shawn Bearman is an extraordinary woman, and never ceases to amaze me. I'd be lost if I had not found this community.

Health & Wellbeing

This category covers your physical, mental and emotional health and wellness.

Health coaches mentor, inspire, guide and motivate clients to make positive health choices taking into account the concept of biodiversity – the belief that everyone is different and there is no ‘one size fits all’ solution to the health issues that may challenge each individual client.

If we are dealing with the health and wellbeing quadrant you might work with a specialist in nutrition and eating, a specialist in physical fitness, or a specialist that only coaches you because you're an Ironman.

On the other side of this quadrant, you might work with a coach that specialises in mindfulness, and deal with the fact that your mind races all the time. You might learn meditation or other mindfulness practices.

This quadrant covers everything from the physical, mental and emotional limitations of ourselves.

Another example of someone who specializes in emotional well being is a relationship coach. Our emotional well being is completely and utterly connected to the relationships we have in our ability to relate to the people we care about.

In some cases, a relationship coach might bridge two quadrants and do health and well being work with you while also managing your relationship with yourself and your relationship with other people.

We can assume that a lot of clients who are having imbalances with their relationships with other people: whether it's an intimate relationship like a significant other or their partner, a professional relationship like their boss, or peers at work, they probably need to work on their relationship with themselves first.

I Need Coaching changed my life and held me accountable in ways no other coaching ever had before. At the time, I didn't fully understand coaching, and I was somewhat resistant. But, now that I know the power of coaching and what it makes possible, I can see what a difference the Coaching Community made to my life. I can see how they called me forth and held me as someone greater than I knew myself to be. Thanks Coaches! You continue to be such an inspiration to me!!"

Relationships - Self & Others

Working on yourself is as important as working on things in your life. Some people really don't get that to get anything in life, you need to work on yourself first. This Quadrant starts at the core, with the self and expands out to all of your interactions with others in the world.

What we often discover is, if people are having breakdowns in any area of life, they don't have a great relationship or attitude towards their inner self.

One of the more common symptoms of people that don't have a great relationship with themselves, is that they make themselves and other people wrong all the time. To the other people in their lives, these individuals may occur as never truly being happy or complainers.

Even though they might feel okay, they're usually stressful for the people in their lives.

Business & Finance

In here we coach everything from the area of career right through to business owners.

Maybe you want a different or a better career. Maybe you want to take your existing career to the next level.

In the area of business, maybe you want to start a business or maybe you want to take your current business to another level. In the area of finances maybe you just you don't have a plan and maybe you need someone to teach you. A lot of people don't even know it even looks like to be accountable and responsible for their finances?

We also come across a lot of people who want to start a business but haven't done any of the internal work and so they have no idea what they're doing. Or unfortunately, they haven't done enough work on their relationship with themselves, which makes it next to impossible to support them in building something external.

“Business coaching often starts with a recognition from an employee or business owner, that there is something ‘not quite right’. They might see symptoms of poor decision making, or inefficient prioritisation, or even lack of purpose and planning.

Putting together a strategy and plan involves a wide range of tools, techniques and plenty of talking and mapping – everything from evaluation of capabilities and leadership skills, right through to business planning, communications, operational systems and processes.”

"Anything that Shawn is involved in goes well. She is amazing and has an unparalleled level of integrity."

Home & Environment

This quadrant is really about how specific environments impact the person or the personality.

It's where we see everything from hoarding to wives who complain that their husbands love the car more than they love them.

It’s also about how some environments are empowering while others are not. You may hang out outdoors a lot but not be empowered in your extracurricular activities there.

Environment is really about where you hang out and whether or not you are empowered there.

This can include career and work as well as interpersonal relationships and the impact of the home environment on partners and family. The relationship quadrant overlaps to the home and office environment quite often.

Environment also includes your emotional environment. The reel question is which environments inspire you and which ones occur as stifling.

Are you free to play? Do they bring you joy? If they're not bringing you joy you may need to shift the environment or your relationship with it.

Some clients simply must get out into the physical environment, out in the physical world for hike or walk, something physical in nature at least once a week. If not people don't want to be around them or do business with them, it's a major environmental need.
